Apple Vision Pro: a year of spatial computing, explained
The Vision Pro is no longer just a developer curiosity. Here is how spatial computing is becoming genuinely useful.

Twelve months after launch, the Apple Vision Pro has matured from a breathtaking demo into a genuinely useful tool — for the right people. Its spatial displays, giant virtual screens and immersive environments are finding real homes in design, education and entertainment.

Real workflows
The killer app remains the infinite workspace: multiple floating 4K displays in an empty room. Architects, designers and lecturers use it to visualise 3D models and walk students through concepts that are hard to show on a flat screen.
Where to start
Because it is priced at the premium end, we recommend trying it in an Apple Store before committing. The visionOS ecosystem is growing fast, but it is still a frontier you should test with a clear use case in mind.
Our verdict
A frontier worth watching
Breathtaking and increasingly useful, but buy for a clear spatial-workflow use case, not curiosity alone.
